Under the Patronage of Her Excellency Mrs. Hind Subaih Barrak Al-Subaih, Minister of Social Affairs & Labor & Minister of State for Planning & Development Affairs, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Planning Institute. A workshop on “Women Employment in the Private Sector in GCC Countries” was held in cooperation between the Arab planning institute and the Executive Bureau of the Council of Ministers of Labour & Ministry of Social Affairs in GCC States, during the period 14-15 December 2014 at the Arab Planning institute-Kuwait. Experts and representatives of several governmental sectors, ministries and civil society institutes from GCC had attended and participated in the workshop.

The Work Shop Aims to: 

1- Explore and recognize the reality of women employment in GCC countries 

2- Review of the legislations concerning women employment in GCC countries 

3- Discuss the challenges, constrains and difficulties affecting women employment in GCC countries 

4- Exploring and discussing the importance of vocational training in providing better employment opportunities and support for Small and Medium Enterprises.

5- The role of civil society organizations in women employment advocacy in GCC countries

6- Explore and evaluate programs that are imitated through the ministries of Labour concerning women employment in GCC.
