API held the Annual Meeting of its Advisory Board

The Arab Planning Institute (API) held the Annual Meeting of its Advisory Board on 18/4/2013 at API's premises in Kuwait. The Meeting was chaired by API’s Director General - Dr. Bader O. Malallah. The Board discussed the institute’s 2013/2014 Work Plan. Members attending the meeting included Dr. Hussein Al Talafha - API's Deputy Director General; Dr. Sulaiman Al-Jassim - President of Zayed University, UAE; Dr. Nader Al-Kabbani - Director of Research and Policy at Silatech, Qatar; and API's Scientific Committees Coordinators: Dr. Ahmed Al-Kawaz, and Dr. Dr. Abbas Abdelkarim, and Dr. Belcacem Labbas.

API held the 1st Meeting for 2012/2013 of its Board of Trustees

The Arab Planning Institute (API) held the 1st Meeting of its Board of Trustees for 2012/2013 on Saturday 12/1/2013 at API’s premises in Kuwait. The Meeting was chaired by H.E. Dr. Rola Dashti, Minister of State for Planning and Development Affairs, Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs, and Chairperson of API's Board of Trustees. The Meeting was attended by 14 representatives of Arab Member Countries, in addition to Dr. Bader O. Malallah, API’s Director General, and Dr. Hussain Al-Talafha, API's Deputy Director General. In this Meeting, the Board of Trustees approved API's Scientific and Financial reports for 2011/2012.

Regional Forum on «Economies of the Arab Spring» in Jordan

In cooperation with the Department of Development and Social Policy with the Technical Secretariat of the Arab council of ministers of Social Affairs, and the participation of economists and specialized international experts. The Arab Planning Institute held its Regional Forum on «Economies of the Arab Spring» in Jordan from the 17th till the 18th of December 2012.

Regional Expert Group Meeting : The Role of Small and Medium Enterprises in Sustained Development in the Arab Countries

Under the Patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Arab Planning Institute organized Regional Expert Meeting on The Role of Small and Medium Enterprises in Sustained Development in the Arab Countries, in the 6 and 7 of November 2012, in cooperation with the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development and the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of science (KFAS).

API held the 2nd Meeting for 2011/2012 of its Board of Trustees

The Arab Planning Institute (API) held the 2nd Meeting of its Board of Trustees for 2011/2012 on 9/6/2012 in Amman – Jordan. The Meeting was chaired by H.E. Dr. Fadel Safar Ali safar, Minister of Public Works, Minister of Planning and Development Affairs in the State of Kuwait, Chairperson of the API's Board of Trustees. The Meeting was attended by 12 representatives of Arab Member Countries. in addition to Dr. Bader O. Malallah, API’s Director General, and Dr. Ali Abdel Gadir Ali, API's Ex-Deputy Director General. In this Meeting, the Board of Trustees approved the appointment of Dr. Hussain Al-Talafha as API's Deputy Director General for two years effective 9/6/2012. Also, the Board of Trustees adopted the proposed 2012/2013 work plan and budget.

The Board discussed the institute’s 2012/2013 Work Plan. Members attending the meeting included Dr. Ali Abdel Ghadir Ali -API's Deputy Director General; Dr. Ibrahim Elbadawi – Director of Macroeconomic and Forecasting Economic Policy & Research Center at Dubai Economic Council; Dr. Sulaiman Al-Jassim, President of Zayed University, UAE; Dr. Nader Al-Kabbani - Director of Research and Policy at Silatech, Qatar; and API's Scientific Committees Coordinators: Dr. Ahmed Al-Kawaz, Dr. Belcacem Labbas, and Dr. Riadh Ben Jelili.
