Poverty impacts of publicpolicies as well as public policies designed to alleviate poverty in developingcountries are increasingly drawing both domestic and international attention.This paper provides a review of some of the contemporary developments in theCGE-related literature on poverty. A specific focus in the paper is withrespect to the status of poverty-related CGE work on Arab countries. Drawing onthe literature and the particular situation in Arab countries, the paperprovides a general framework to guide country studies aiming at assessingpublic policy impacts on poverty in the Arab region.
